Familie Bauer Hollotrio Grüner Veltliner 2023

Josef and Eva Maria Bauer biodynamically farm 17 hectares of vines in the Wagram region of Austria. The grapes are sorted in the vineyard before 80% of the fruit is left on the skins for 5 hours and the remainder ferments on the skins for 30 days in stainless steel on the lees before being blended back together and resting a further 4 months before bottling. Cloudy appearance, ultra fresh taste with abundant citrus peel and herbs on the palate packed with layers of pithy grapefruit, clementine peel, stemmy thyme and green apple skin. Finish lingers on with a hint of white pepper and dried herbs adding to the overall savory impression of this wine.
