Frontier—way out in the West—belongs to itself. There is nothing quite like this elsewhere in Niagara. A class above, it has trademark lacey minerality and a tight acidic structure. Yes, to the seashell nose, but beware facile comparisons to the great Chardonnay terroirs of Vineland! Frontier is a place – and a wine – all its own! Nuanced florals and some mineral—almost nutty—salty oiliness bewilder and delight. Linden flower perfume overtones inform the finale.
