Alegre Valgagnon Rioja 2021

Established in 2010 by Oscar Alegre and Eva Valgañón, is a winery in Rioja’s western area. They embrace organic and regenerative viticulture. They strive to recapture the magic of an earlier Rioja era – before phylloxera and before the Bordelais arrived. Situated at around 600 meters, their vineyards feature limestone-rich clay soils, lending complexity to their wines.

It became clear to Oscar and Eva that there could be another path forward in Rioja—an approach that married the best of Traditional Rioja with a deeper appreciation of Rioja’s even more ancient ancestral past.

Inky purple. Intense aromas of blackberries and spices. Robust palate showcasing black plum, cocoa, and a long, velvety finish.
